tfs2010 - TFS - Work Items - Is it possible to set a state from any other state without creating all the transitions? -

we have custom workflow 8 work item states... , wanted 9th 1 called "cancelled". could, in theory, cancelled @ point of development.

is there way create state can come other state without having create 8 transitions ?

background/context we developing event notification service . application @ high level looks below: our developene scope involves widget , ens.
